... Gin's Route? A MC older than 17?!
This AU? Is based on the fact that lately he gets emails on the COMP from ~*MYSTERY*~ sender! M-tan (or whoever that is threatening him, can't be anyone he personally knows... mind you mun knows spoilers galore, so...), and what it says to him.
What does it say? That he chose a difficult path, yadda yadda, but if he were to reawaken the slumbering, great, DANGEROUS powers within him again, he would be struck down for his sins almost as soon as possible,
It has (had) been two plus years since the Tokyo Lockdown was lifted thanks to Haru, Gin, himself, and everyone else working to get to the server and stop it, banishing the demons and ridding themselves of them as if they could go on with their normal lives ... At first? It was great for Akane to FINALLY be able to rest and relax and go to school (eventually) like the NORMAL teenager he was. But the fact remained Naoya, knew best of all that once bitten twice as likely to come back for a third. Why do I say this? It's easy to see how mundane, school life would become boring to one who had been used to battling--and winning with amazingly quick progress as he flew into the ranks, leveling his skill and fine-tuning what would have made him such a great King of Bel, had he stayed. But Akane choose not to stay for the well-being of not only mankind... but also himself. His parents, and... well, he thought Naoya. Boring and normal as it was, he eventually got used to it and began hanging out with Haru more and more who, in his world, had fought alongside the others and himself most times (see the previous entry!) for something to do. Anything.
As a month turned into two, then four, and then eight, and then a whole year, time wore ever onward... but Akane felt he was being left behind by everyone; everything, that the life he worked so hard to fight for... hadn't been worth it.
But as usual, he kept it to himself.
He didn't want to do anything with his life. Maybe learn an instrument--he takes up the Keyboard which... he is not so good at but, Haru is giving him lessons while Gin enjoys laughing at his failtastic skill for music. But other than that, he felt... empty. Like his role was now worthless and he'd go back to just being the kid (teen; young man; however you viewed him) "With the catears on". He even kept his COMP with him, just in case. For the longest of times, he... had an overall feeling after these last two years that something had been up. And not just from himself or from Naoya or whatever (Naoya seemed to have disappeared into Mythos and never had time for him anymore, it seemed, and Yuzu only wanted to chase men, and Atsuro was always programming now in school since he was a grade ahead...), with all of this, Akane felt... pushed away. Keisuke was still there for him, but it was mostly Gin and Haru who occupied his time later. When he hit Eighteen, they had a big old five person party, but... everything in his life now felt hollow, and it hadn't before.
All that he cared for now... all that made him "feel" at all was Haru and her solo-band he aspired so muchly to become a part of--to do the Keyboard-playing and lyrics for. But in that clinging to hope... he hadn't noticed, yet, what else was truly going on. All that mattered was her smile. School was pointless beyond it, and now his COMP lay dead...
